Act- fire extinguisher

Seen at the Gift & Interior trade #1:
During Christmas there was a lot of fires in Norway and we realized how important it is to have and to know how to use a fire extinguisher. But though it could be about life and death, the extinguisher is not a pretty object and we tend to stuff it away, instead of placing it in visible parts of our homes. Sigrun Vik is a master student at Oslo School of Architecture and Design and she have done something about just that. The product concept Act is a brand new and intelligent fire extinguisher. The extinguisher connects to a wireless fire alarm system and alerts with sound and light when the alarm is triggered. The form is modern and elegant and would in a discreet way fit in almost any homes. I really hope this will be in production soon!

Lights up in case of fire!

I think that the fire extinguisher must be >50% red to get the proper certificates. At least in Sweden.

rules are ment to be broken. Or at least good design should make it possible to change rules if the function of the product is better...

A fire extinguisher should be easily recognizable as such, or it fails to achieve its purpose, so I think that is not a bad rule.

Goodness = {[Good design + Good rule] = Good product}
