Is she a fashion designer or a sculptor?
Hard to say, but who cares about labels- just take a look and get inspired.
Taking the human body as a starting point, Backlund builds her garmentes by hand from a couple of basic bricks of knit to discover the shapes she wants. Making new silhouettes, experiment with different materials and techniques. She is also very interested in traditional handicraft methods, showing great skills in her work.
