As you all know; Italians love their Vespa! Mark Handforth understood this when he in 2001 had an exhibition in Turin. Knowing that a lot of the visitors would arrive to the museum on their scooter, he chose to do an installation using the Vespa as a sculpture, with candlelight’s burning on top of it. He transformed the bike, into a romantic object with a sociological content.
